Elm City,NC-With a heavy heart following the loss of his longtime engine builder Chris Arnold dazzled the field at County Line Raceway to earn his first career Southeast Dirt Modified Series win.

In Qualifying it was Austin Holcombe besting the field with a lap of 15.518 seconds to earn his second quick qualifier award in as many races. Daniel Parker qualified second quick at 15.652 seconds with Chris Arnold, Taylor Cool and Ryan Toole rounding out the top 5.

In Heat Race action Chris Arnold would pass quick qualifier Austin Holcombe on the outside in heat race 1 to grab the lead and the win to earn the pole position for the feature. In Heat Race 2 Taylor Cook would use the same outside pass move to overtake Daniel Parker to take the lead and the win to earn the outside pole starting spot for the feature.

In the feature Arnold and Cook led the field to the green flag, side by side battling early on saw Cook take the top position with Arnold back to second. Arnold went around the outside of Cook to take the lead early in the going. Cook, Daniel Parker and Austin Holcombe would battle early on fiercely from second place on back. At one point a three wide battle for a spot in the top 5 between Bradley McCaskill, Jesse Rockett and Ryan Toole. Arnold would face challenges from Holcombe and Cook on several restarts, repelling them each time while maintaining his lead. Late in the going Jesse Rockett would climb his way up to 4th while previous race winner Austin Holcombe would have to settle for 3rd behind Taylor Cook as Chris Arnold put his Mark Batten built racing engine in victory lane at the end of the 25 lap main. Arnold in tears in victory lane reflected on just how much Batten meant to his racing over the last ten years and celebrated the win and the $2000 pay day.
